Thanksgiving 2013

Happy Thanksgiving 2013! Where has the year gone? We had a very busy Thanksgiving holiday, but one of the most enjoyable we have had in a long time. On Thanksgiving Day we went to Pauls Valley to spend the day with Jed's family. We missed Joli, Gene, and Alayna this year, but can't wait to see them for Christmas. Karis and Keller were so excited to see each other and had a great day playing together. Though there are 6 years between the two of them you would never know it because Karis is so patient with him, and never grows tired of playing the little kid games Keller likes to play.
Tanner and Jessica were able to come to Meagan's family's Turkey Day celebration this year. It was so nice too, because we haven't seen them since May! They stayed through the whole weekend so we got to spend some nice time with them on Saturday. We all went to downtown OKC and Bricktown to partake in the Downtown in December festivities and then finished with a great dinner at an Edmond hibachi restaurant (now Keller has decided he wants to be a chef!)
Keller talked his dad into coloring Mermaids in a coloring book I picked up at the Dollar Store. This is what Jed thought was more fun.

They are getting read to push Keller down the snow hill at Bricktown Ballpark. I wish I had a better shot of his eyes. You could see the anxiety in them. Clearly he wasn't sure that this was such a good idea.
He ended up loving it though and we went back up and stood in line again. All together I think Keller went down the hill 5 times. He bugs me every day to go back and do it again!

Uncle Tanner and Aunt Jessica took a turn next.

Would be a cute family pic, but I am not sure what Keller is doing!

I got in on the action too! I have to admit. It was pretty fun!

If there is something to climb on you better believe Keller is going to find it!

When in Bricktown, I ALWAYS visit Pinkitzel-the best little cupcake/candy/ gift shop I have ever been to-, and this trip was no exception. The bonus was that my sister, Jessica, loved it as much as I do. Chocolate salted caramel cupcake anyone?

Standing on the fiber optic lights that are scattered throughout the sidewalk to the Devon Tower.

At the children's playground, Keller saw a kid riding on this thing and going in circles, so he wanted to do it....until is started spinning; he then quickly decided he did not like the dizzy feeling.

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
