The bad thing about being so busy at school during the week is the fact that it leaves so few opportunities to capture Keller learning and growing. He is starting to speak in complete sentences-most of them in a language I don't understand-but they are complete sentences nonetheless! Fall has officially arrived and hopefully that means a break in the heat. The forecast this week is calling for weather only in the 80s. Yea! Now let's just hope this trend continues and we don't get back into the 90s next week. Of course, it's Oklahoma, anything can happen! With it being so nice outside, we have been spending a lot more time out there. Most of our days when we aren't in school we spend outside. Unfortunately, the camera doesn't make it out as often as we do, so I miss a lot of shots. While my mom was here last week she converted Keller's water table into a sand table so he could use it more in the fall. We went out to play on Saturday morning (and yes, we wea...

Playground

Before I begin, let me preempt by adding that I realize I have quite a few typos in my blogs usually -which is ironic considering my two professions have been editing for a newspaper and now teaching high school English! I have no excuse. I don't proofread these things. I just type and post. I am trying to get better though so please bear with me. It has been a funny week for Keller around here. His Nonnie (my mom) kept him Monday-Wednesday and he went to Mommo and Bapa's (Jed's Parents) Thursday and Friday. Jed was out of town for business and I had an incredibly busy week at school, so having grandmas' help was a life saver. Keller had fun, as always, playing in his ball pit upstairs. However, this week he discovered that a hand mirror makes a good shovel for throwing balls out  of the ball pit and all over the upstairs room. After I picked Keller up on Friday, we went to the park in the afternoon. He is not very cooperative when it comes to getting his picture...

Football Saturday

The Sooners are taking on Florida State at 2:30 today. It is going to be a great game. After the way OU looked against Utah St. last week, many in Sooner nation are quite afeared (yes I spelled that right, ha!) of today's game. No worries. It will be a small margin, but I am confident the Sooners will come out victorious.  So in prep for today's game we put Keller's OU jersey on him for the first time. It looks like a dress it is so big! Oh well, Jed decided he needed to wear it anyway.  Here is a WONDERFUL pic of my two guys... Aren't they handsome?! Keller loves his footballs and was so excited to go out in the yard and play catch this morning. And, of course, he has a OU football! This kid can really throw the ball. I suck at getting action shots, though I tried many times. His spiral is beautiful. I seriously think he could show Landry Jones a thing or two! Boomer Sooners!

Labor Day

Isn't he the cutest thing ever! Jed and I both had the day off so we have just been kicking back, relaxing, and all that jazz. We have been contemplating converting Keller's crib to a toddler bed after learning that several people we know with kids around the same age have taken their kids out of their cribs. Keller is very into using his crib as a trampoline these days and he loves being in our bed and the guest bed, so we are tossing the idea around of letting him graduate to a bigger bed. Any thoughts? However, I went to Babies 'R'Us today (oh how I HATE that store), and the conversion kit that goes with his bed would take 12-14 weeks to get in. Are you kidding me? It's a couple pieces of wood, why so long? I hate hate hate that store so much. So, it looks like we have time to think about it anyway, but I would still be intersted in your comments. This is Keller mastering climbing on the guest bed... Because it has been so nice out this weekend, we thought t...

Under the Weather

It has been entirely too long since I updated what is going on in the Cole household. Are you ready for the exciting news? Not a DANG thang! Keller's ohsoawesome new daycare is nothing but a freaking germ factory! He has been there three weeks and so far has brought home the stomach flu and sinus infection and bronchitis, and that is just what Jed and I have caught! Poor Keller has had a double ear infection on top of it all, and has been miserable. Needless to say we have laid around for a week and not done too much. On a much happier note, Blue Eyes BBQ is taking off slowly, but we are starting to make some money and get our name out there. Hopefully football tailgating every week will help spread the word even more and it will really take off. We are also very excited that football season officially kicked off for the Sooners yesterday! While it wasn't the Sooners greatest showing, they won, so we can't complain too much even if they did look AWFUL.  Keller has learn...
