Bubble Bath

Keller got to take his very first bubble bath tonight. While he wasn't quite sure what to do with all those bubbles at first (he kept shaking them off of his hands), he quickly realized how fun they were and had a blast splish, splashing around. Trying to figure out these bubbles. Organizing his letters and numbers. He is yelling like a monkey in this picture. Particulay the monkey from Toy Story 3, his favorite sound right now. Cheese! Putting his face underwater. He is ready for summertime swimming. Splash! He enjoys soaking everything in the bathroom with his huge splashes.

What a month!

My previous post was about how freaking cold it is and all the fun we had playing in the snow we have had this month. Typical February weather, I guess you could say. Fast forward only 2 weeks and we are playing outside in 70 degree weather! Only in Oklahoma (well, and Texas). We spent last weekend in Dallas with friends and family. On Saturday, my college friend and roommate Shea's daughter, Kinley, had her second birthday party and Keller was invited. It turned out to be a truly beautiful day with 70 degree temps and shining sun. Keller even got his first sunburn  because it never occured to me to put sunblock on him in February! Me and Shea When we got to the party, Keller made a beeline for the car and played in it most of the time. Believe it or not,we don't have one of these cars at our house ( I know, I can hear you. Every kid has one of these. Well not ours. He has two 4-wheelers instead.) The car and Kinley's balloons were Keller's favorite part...

Ranch dressing

My kid is too weird. We already know that he LOVES avocados and eats guacamole with a spoon right out the bowl, but tonight we made a new discovery. He also LOVES Ranch dressing. No, not ranch on a salad or as a dip, but just by itself, straight out of the container, with a fork! I love my son, and I love ranch. But he is weird. I don't even eat it like that!

Winter Wonderland

As you know, we are living in a winter wonderland right now. Snow has been on the ground since Tuesday and more came down today. We already had a foot, and I think gained another couple inches. The weathermen missed this one, though. According to them, the snow was supposed to be outta here by noon. Ha! It snowed until about 6 pm. While it is pretty to look at; it isn't so pretty that I want it to stick around. The other bad part is the temperature. The wind chills around here have been in the negatives or just a couple degrees above zero, and for three days Keller has been looking out the window saying "Nosh ow-side" (snow outside)and he didn't understand why he couldn't go out and play.Today it was "warm" enough for Keller to actually get out and play in it. He didn't know what to think at first and so spent some time just walking around, checking things out. It was snowing so hard and it was so pretty, so I taught him to catch the snowflakes in ...

J-E-L-L-O!

Today was our friend Kyndra's (and Keller's babysitter) 17th birthday, and since we all have had cabin fever after being cooped up in our houses for three days, we had lunch out to celebrate. Keller went along for the ride, but quickly grew tired of our company and found an indoor rock garden to play in instead. He hung out with the rocks forever. I finally made him get out though because he thought it would be more fun to throw the rocks out all over the floor and make a huge mess. Yeah, well, I'm sure you can guess how that went over. Instead, this is what he chose to do. Yep, sat in the floor and pouted. Of course, it was partly my fault. Lunch was at his typical naptime, so he was incredibly tired. We didn't last too much longer after this (and didn't even make it through cake). However, I was fortunate enough to get a cute picture of Kyndra and him before we said Adios. Since I have been snowed in and school has been canceled once again tomorrow (Friday) I ...

Puppies and Sushi

Recently, some friends of ours had puppies! Well, that is to say their yellow labs Daisy and Cooper had puppies! Eight of them! The puppies were approaching 4 weeks of age on Saturday, so I thought I would take Keller over to play with them. At first Keller was not crazy about the dogs, and refused to even hold one. But eventually he warmed up to them, and he even climbed in their kennel!  He was very unsure of these little guys and girls as they started to come awake and move around. Somehow I managed to convince him to sit down and let them crawl on his lap.  And he even gave them a kiss! I wish I had more pics but didn't think about getting my camera out until it was too late. On Saturday night, we decided to try out a new restaurant we had heard about, Asian Fusion (it was okay). Keller has never tried sushi before because we don't generally take him to Japanese restaurants since it takes about three hours to eat there! However, this place is different, kind of like P...
