It's the last Thursday night of my Christmas break. Jed is watching football, Keller is in bed, I have watched all of my Lifetime Christmas movies I recorded (go ahead, laugh, it's okay. I accept that I am a complete loser), I'm not in the mood to read a book, and I am enjoying blogging so as I was scrolling through my iPhone I realized I had some cute pics from the last couple months that I could post. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...

It was so nice outside today-almost 73 degrees!- that we just had to go outside and play with some of Keller's new Christmas toys. Keller loves loves loves his basketball goal and has been so sad that is has been too cold to go play outside.   As fun as it is, you know the attention span of a 2 year old. So, after just a few minutes of basketball, it was time to move on to something else-chalk! Playing with chalk is just fine with me; in fact, I love it more than he does, I think. However, since an artist I am not, I pretty much just draw flowers and write our names in all kinds of pretty colors. Here's the funny part, anytime Keller sees a flower-whether it's for real, in a book, magazine, or even chalk-he thinks he has to smell it. Hence this pic: And just to show you how seriously he sniffs it, look at the chalk on his nose! It's hard to see because it's yellow, but it's there! He also got a new 4-wheeler from his Uncle Adam, Aunt Ingrid, and Kari...

Haircut

Keller's curls were cut off today. Don't worry they will grow back...FAST! They always do. He looks so grown up now.

Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope yours was as wonderful as ours! It has taken me a few days but here are pics from Christmas morning. We surprisingly didn't get up at the crack of dawn. Keller slept until 9 am! I know! Hey, we weren't complaining any. We had a nice relaxing morning at home, just the three of us, before we had to drive to Guthrie to spend the afternoon with my family and my adopted family, the Tripletts. Keller is into anything sports related these days and he loves balls of any kind. He especially loves to play basketball right now, so Santa brought him a basketball hoop. He was stoked! Oh, and aren't his Buzz Lightyear pjs the cutest things?! His soon-to-be Aunt Jessica sent those to him for his birthday, and he never wants to take them off once he gets them on. He shoots! He scores! He is very good at dunking.  I wish I could say Keller opened his presents with as much enthusiasm this morning as he did on Christmas Eve; that was so not the case. H...

Christmas Eve

We always spend Christmas Eve with Jed's family in Pauls Valley, and it is always a good time. What changed things up the most this year was that instead of drawing names for a gift exchange we just played Dirty Santa with $100 limit! It was so fun. The presents were great. Some of the things up for grabs were a panini press, a food saver, a blue ray player (Jed got it), a Kindle (me!), a really cool iHome, and a number of other things. It quickly turned into quite a vicious game as everything started getting stolen. But it was the most fun Dirty Santa I have ever played! Karis and Keller are the only two grandchildren right now, so they had tons of presents to open. Karis is seven, so she has the present thing down. Keller, not so much. Though his birthday gave him good practice, he was a little slow at opening presents tonight. But once he got the hang of it. He was on a roll! His first present were these finger crayons... that he proceeded to stack over and over and over again ...

Happy Birthday Keller!

I can't believe my baby boy is two years old! Well, officially his birthday isn't until Wednesday, but we had his birthday party today, so our family and friends could drive and celebrate with us. The party didn't start until 2 PM but Keller refused to nap the entire day, I was mentally preparing myself for the meltdown that I was sure to come because of the missed nap. Only, he never had one. Keller was such a good boy all day! Lots of picture follow, so brace yourself. Keller is very into Toy Story right now, especially Toy Story 3 and he loves Buzz and Woody both. Just like the kid, Andy, from the movie, I don't think he could pick a favorite. So I had two giant Toy Story balloons that K carried around with him all afternoon. At one point we wondered why we even bother with toys sometimes, it's the simplest things in life that catch his attention. At one point Buzz managed to make an escape and floated to the top of our 15 foot cathedral ceiling. As Jed so exper...
