Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone. I hope yours was as wonderful as ours! It has taken me a few days but here are pics from Christmas morning.
We surprisingly didn't get up at the crack of dawn. Keller slept until 9 am! I know! Hey, we weren't complaining any. We had a nice relaxing morning at home, just the three of us, before we had to drive to Guthrie to spend the afternoon with my family and my adopted family, the Tripletts.
Keller is into anything sports related these days and he loves balls of any kind. He especially loves to play basketball right now, so Santa brought him a basketball hoop.
He was stoked! Oh, and aren't his Buzz Lightyear pjs the cutest things?! His soon-to-be Aunt Jessica sent those to him for his birthday, and he never wants to take them off once he gets them on.

He shoots! He scores! He is very good at dunking.
I wish I could say Keller opened his presents with as much enthusiasm this morning as he did on Christmas Eve; that was so not the case. He investigated his chair to see his stocking and what else Santa left for him.

He even managed to dig in his stocking once Dada showed him how.

Isn't this a cute picture? Doesn't Keller look like he is a sweet angel and really into unwrapping with his dad? Yeah right! So not the the case! I am amazed I even got this picture because as soon as it was over, he was squirming away from Jed saying "No present! No present!" Like I said, he was not enthusiatic about unwrapping gifts on Christmas morning.

It is much easier to play with toys that are already unwrapped.

See all those presents under that tree? Yep, most belong to Keller. And most didn't get unwrapped until Sunday, and I even gave up on Tuesday and unwrapped  the remaining 4 after Keller adamantly refused!
After a nice leisurely morning at home, we headed to Guthrie to my Nene and Papa's house. Keller pretty much refused to unwrap gifts there too at first. So, we went to my Aunt Dawn's for Christmas dinner (lunch) and Keller saw his cousins unwrap presents, so he kind of got back into it. Once we made it back to my grandparent's he unwrapped a few more, but only after we started to unwrap one for him; and only after he saw either Buzz or Woody on the box of what he was unwrapping. This kid is so funny.
This is a Buzz Lightyear Lego set.
The present of the day was his actual Buzz Lightyear that Nonnie and Papa Todd gave him. That Buzz goes with us everywhere, and I assure you it is the most annoying toy in the world. There are a million buttons that make sound and make the damn thing talk and there is no "off" switch!
But Keller loves it!
And isn't this an adorable pic of Keller and Papa Todd?

My dad was also a good boy this year, and since my parents are getting ready to move back to Oklahoma, Dad has decided to get into fishing again and so asked Santa for a new rod and reel. So, even though I give Jed a hard time about all of his fishing obsessions, he is nice to have around. Without him, who knows what my dad would have ended up with. I can't tell all that fishing stuff apart. I wouldn't know if it was Abu Garcia or Fisher Price!

After we finished at my grandparent's, we went to my best friend, Jennifer's, family home and spent a few hours catching up and relaxing with my adopted family. I took pics there too and had some really cute ones of Keller and Lauren (Jen's daughter) but I have no earthly idea what has happened to them :( So a new post may soon follow with pics from then.
All in all it was a great (if busy) Christmas holiday and I am so glad to be able to celebrate with friends and family each year!

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
