Happy 5th Birthday Keller!

Where has the time gone? I can't believe that Keller turned five years old on Sunday! Talk about the year flying by. It seems like just yesterday we were at a Thunder game with Josh, Heather, and Saylor celebrating his 4th birthday and yet here we are 365 days later. Wow. Usually we try to go somewhere or do something special for Keller's birthday instead of having a traditional party or giving him gifts because Christmas is right around the corner, and I have enough friends who have December birthdays who say their birthdays get overlooked. So, a couple years ago, we decided we would just take Keller on a trip for his birthday or do something fun and unique. Whatever he chooses. That has worked well for the past couple years, but this fall has been crazy with me only working half a day, freak snow storms, and a shorter time frame between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, so everything kind of just snuck up on us. Keller got to have a birthday party instead of a trip this year, and I do think it was a success. His got to spend his birthday with his best friends and those who love him best!

yep, that's a balloon!

The coolest gift ever. His very own craft box from the Dennis family!

A goofy shot to end the day because by the end of the day he was acting goofy! Keller was so exhausted by 7 pm that he could hardly stand up, but he was nice enough to cooperate with me and let me snap just a couple more pictures just so I could blog!

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
