Happy 3rd Birthday Keller

I can't believe my little boy is three years old. Time has gone by so fast sometimes I just have to stop and slow down and remember to enjoy it. Keller's birthday was very low key this year with just the grandparents (Mommo and Bappa and Papa Todd and Nonnie) enjoying it with us this year. Keller was very excited about his birthday cake and all he could talk about for weeks was white birthday cake with Woody and Buzz. He got his wish.
Not that Keller even was interested in the cake, all he wanted was the icing! He couldn't even wait until after dinner to dig in. I leave the room for one minute and this is what I came back to.

FYI, he then took a turn eating the frosting on all but 2 of the 10 cupcakes on the table. He loves frosting!
When it was present time, the first thing he did was take the bows off of one of the presents and affix them to the side of his head.

Oh did he think he was so cute much to his dad's mortification (earlier in the evening he enjoying marching around in my high heeled boots too!) We know it's just a phase but I still enjoy watching Jed squirm when Keller plays dress up!
Unwrapping presents was actually a chore. We thought he would tear into them, but he would unwrap a present and be done for a few minutes. It's like he needs time to enjoy each new present before moving on to the next one. Keller operates on Keller time and noone can make him move any faster or slower. (He also does this at meal time and sometimes it takes him 2 hours to eat!)

He got snow boots as a gift and also light up Sketchers as another. Who would think to buy a kid shoes for their third birthday, but Keller loves shoes believe it or not and is just as excited to see them as he is toys sometimes.
Finally, he got tired of the bows on his head and decided it was time for Woody to wear bows.
Unwrapping a plane toy from Cars 2. Anything with planes he is obsessed with also since his Uncle Tanner is a pilot.

The Toy Story 3 Landfill. Another cool toy...
And finally, the highlight of the evening. A superhero costume from Momma and Bappa. Keller loves to pretend he is Super Why, so they bought him his own superhero costume. Let me tell you, he has lived in this costume for the last few days. He's starting to act like the kid from Daddy Daycare who dressed as The Flash. Let's home Keller doesn't insist on wearing this costume for 6 straight weeks!

Blowing out candles

 The Playdoh mustache!
He had a very good birthday. Clearly he was pleased!

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
