Cleveland County Fair

The Cleveland County Fair was in town this past weekend (Oh boy!...Not really), but it was something to do since OU had a Bye week and we thought Keller would have fun riding the little rides. Have fun is an understatement.
He loved the carousel.
There is this little roller coaster that was an alligator and it was just for little kids. Last year Keller was too short to ride it, but this year he just barely met the height requirement! We were worried at first because grown ups couldn't ride with the kids and I was concerned Keller would get scared and try to jump out. Not the case!
It was his favorite ride and he rode it five times! When it was time to go home, he cried and cried because he didn't want to leave the alligator!
Papa Todd also took Keller for a pony ride.

And Keller was quite taken with the goat eating his hay. He just stood in front of this goats cage for like 5 minutes and just watched him eat.

Other Keller updates:
-He is 36 inches tall and weighs 35 lbs.
-talks a mile a minute and we have decided he is smarter than most adults we know.
-started preschool in August and seems to be doing well. He loves going every day to "see my buddies", as he says.
-knows all his numbers 1-10, the alphabet and can identify any letter both upper and lowecase on sight.
-knows his shapes (including a pentagon, which I wasn't even sure of!) and all of his colors.
-He can spell his name!
And most importantly....
-Keller knows that we hate orange and that Texas Sucks!

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
