Catching up

I have no idea when this first picture was taken but I remember my dad tying Keller's blanket around him and making him "Super OU Man". Keller ran around dressed like this for a couple hours! It was really funny!
A few weeks ago, one of Keller's friends, Marlee, had her 2nd birthday party. One of the games at the party was a wall where they could stick their head through. Keller had tons of fun sticking his head through the star fish, over and over and over...
Jed has been working hard in our backyard the past few weeks. He and Dad spent a weekend relandscaping it with new sod, laying a new patio, and all that other stuff you do in yards (Don't ask me, I don't do yardwork!). So, we have been spending lots of time outside these days since it isn't a weed jungle anymore.
I came home from work one day and this was Keller's new favorite game...
No! Not just basketball; standing in the chair and shooting the basketball! My mom has been having back trouble and had to have a procedure done on it, and one of her restrictions was that she couldn't lift Keller for a few weeks. Well, he is too short to get the ball in the hoop himself, and Jed and I usually lift him up to dunk it, but his Nonnie couldn't. Instead, she invented this game.

Keller thinks it is a wonderful idea. He especially likes pointing to the ball on the ground and demanding "Get it." To which, I do, and we do it over and over and over...
Another new part of playing outside is his sandbox that Nonnie and Papa Todd brought him from Dallas. We decided to put blue sand it and that has been a huge hit! He constantly wants to play in the blue sand and redecorate the yard with it. I try to get him to keep it in the sandbox because that stuff is expensive! But, so far, he isn't interested in what I have to say on that subject.

This part of the yard has not been sodded yet...

One of the great things about it....You can see where it sticks, so getting him clean is a snap! Not sure if all the sand is out of his hair? Not a problem when it's blue! They also make pink sand, so hopefully one of these days...(no I'm not pregnant! just wishful thinking for my future little girl)
And what day would be complete outside without playing in the new castle?
His favorite thing is to look through the spyglass and say, "Un T, Fly Away!" He pretends he sees Tanner flying his jet everywhere.
And of course, we have to slide...

 Running through the new grass....
And Keller loves finding all the sticks that get blown about in the yard due to all this crazy wind we have been having! I've shown him how to throw them and to let Dazy fetch them, but he thinks it is more fun to throw them and fetch them himself!

Keller's vocabulary is expanding more and more everyday. He repeats everything he hears and loves to learn new things. He is especially impressed with his Uncle Tanner right now and two of his favorite phrases are "Un T fly away" and "Un T fly plane!" He says them each about 1,000 times a day! He also says his own version of "To Infinity and Beyond" ..."to n-e- and non"
Toy Story is still his favorite movie at the moment, but Shrek is a close second.

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
