The weekend of Oct. 1-3 was the Red River Rivalry in Texas. We had an exciting weekend plan. First things first, on Friday Keller and I got to see my college friend Shea and her little girl, Kinley. Shea recently moved to Dallas from North Carolina and we haven't seen each other in about 3 years, so it was great to get to catch up. There are so many memories, we have yet to catch up on...
We met up at Grapevine Mills Mall for a day of shopping.
Just in case your wondering, Yes we switched kids in the picture. Actually we were comparing our children's weights, and Shea about died when she picked up Keller! It was so funny!

Before we went shopping we ate at Rainforest Cafe because we thought the kiddos would love the atmosphere. Boy were we wrong. While they liked the way the animals moved, they did not like the thunderstorms that happen in the  place. Poor Kinley was terrified...
...while Keller couldn't really seem to figure out what was going on. Our shopping trip was pretty fun after the horrifying lunch experience. There is a carousel in the middle of the mall and Keller and Kinley wanted to ride it.
Keller also thought it would be fun to dumb his drink all over, and I mean all over, his lap in the middle of Ann Taylor Loft. We had to strip him down right then and there and change his clothes. I was too busy dealing with the mess to take a picture, but Shea got a great one (check out her blog).
We had plans to meet up on Sunday and let the kids play at a park, but that never happened. :( Keller and I got lost somewhere in Carrollton, and Shea and Kinley couldn't tell us how to get to them, so we drove around for an hour before giving up and decided to head home. I was disappointed but am glad to know that Shea is just a couple hours away now, so we are looking forward to meeting up again soon!

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
