Boomer Sooners! Texas Sucks

Saturday was the 105th Red River Rivalry between Oklahoma and Texas at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas! What an exciting weekend it was!
Things kicked off on Friday night with an OU Pep Rally at Humperdinks. The Sports Animal broadcast from that location all day long; unfortunately, by the time we arrived the radio guys had packed up and left but there were still so many other Sooners fans there it was unreal!
It was a very interesting night. Tanner had my camera and took the liberty at one point of taking pics of the most interesting woman sitting across from us. You can just see her blonde hair in the pic above. OH,AND SHE WAS INTERESTING to see. However (henceforth known as Barbie's Evil Twin or BET), I used editor's discretion and chose not to upload the obscene pictures BET or her black thong and fake lips/cheeks/eyelashes, etc. This is a family blog after all...
Things got even better when BET's Texas Longhorns fan friend showed up in her mini dress and hiked her legs up on the table and showed everyone her business. Classic...
We took our babysitter Kyndra with us, and since she was going to stay home with Keller all day long on Saturday, I thought taking her to see the sights at Humperdinks would be a good time...
She had fun. I think...
Mom stayed home with Keller on Friday night but dad, Jed and Tanner enjoyed themselves...
Yes, that is a giant tube of beer!
And people watching is always fun. Kyndra enjoyed snapping this picture of a young man who, I believe, had just about too much fun Friday night. We couldn't figure out if he was passed out or about to be sick or even dead. Dude didn't move for a long time!
I believe he finally moved and I don't think he was there when we left, confirming the not-quite-dead suspicion. But he wasn't quite alive either...

Saturday was game day!
The Pride of Oklahoma kicked things off.
Looks closely and you can see the division of red and orange at the 50 yard line.

Kyndra stayed at my parent's house with Keller all day long while my family and I went to the Texas State Fair for some pregame festivities and to the football game. Mom, Dad, Tanner, and I all sat together and pretty good seats, while Jed had a ticket with our friend Josh.
It sucked not getting to watch the game with my hubby, but for this game we are lucky we all got tickets and everyone had fun so we really didn't mind. Tanner and I have not been able to enjoy each other's company much lately since he is so busy with the Air Force, and I couldn't tell you the last time (if ever) we were at an OU game together.

In case you don't follow football, or you live under a rock, OU beat the snot out of Texas for three of the four quarters, leaving the fourth quarter one filled with suspense before finally claiming the victory.

It was a sweet, much deserved victory for the Sooners. They are 5-0 so far this season, and moved up to #6 in the polls, while Texas fell out of the Top 25! Bahahahahah!
After the game we wandered around the Fair a little longer and Mom and I enjoyed some Fried Oreos (don't knock 'em til you've tried 'em!) before heading home because I was missing my little boy!
Jed and I stopped for a photo op in front of the Cotton Bowl

Tanner was spent from all the beer and all the sun...

or so I thought...

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
