Orange Leaf Yogurt

My mom is staying with us on Mondays and Tuesdays and is keeping Keller while Jed and I work so he only has to go to daycare twice a week. Today, was a particularly long day for both of us actually, but around 4:00 I had a break and as it happens Mom decided to take Keller out for frozen yogurt at our favorite place, Orange Leaf. We love the place because it has the best frozen yogurt in Norman -and I have tried them all- and it is has lots of room for Keller to run around. Another bonus, it is hardly ever busy, so while it isn't exactly designed for kids to run amuck in, the people who run the place have come to recognize us I think and just look the other way when we let Keller run all around the place. It was a nice treat today because not only is it about a million degrees outside with a heat index of two million and a half, but Keller has a double ear infection and has not been feeling well, so his wonderful Nonnie thought this would be an awesome treat. Apparently K did too because he decided to help himself to BOTH of our yogurts.

Right before this picture he had both spoons in one bowl trying to take two bites at once. I wish I could have gotten it but he moved to fast. This is right after. It's still a funny pic.
Both Mom and I had waffle cone bowls in our paper bowls. Keller decided to try a piece since we both seemed to like it so much.

And he promptly put his piece back in his bowl as he stuck out his tongue and tried to get the taste out of his mouth. He is not a fan of waffle cones apparently.

Still, he loved the yogurt and he ate both the majority of mine and Nonnie's. Of course, we were only too happy to share.

After he was done eating, Keller decided to run around the store, as usual, and even decided to try climbing through the holes in the bottoms on the chairs.
While I thought it was funny, he decided it was not. This picture was snapped right before we had an almost complete meltdown because he thought he was stuck and couldn't get himself out. The funny thing was, he went to the chair at the very next table and crawled right through it. Kids...They crack me up...

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
