Heather's Baby Shower

One of my dearest and oldest friends from high school is having a baby in October, so four other friends and I threw her a baby shower to honor her and little Saylor who is on the way. Sara had the cutest idea for cupcakes for the shower. The only downfall...we had to decorate all 150 of them. Luckily, Sara's mom is a wedding caker and holiday cookier (like my interesting words!), so we had the perfect place to make all the cupcakes and all of the perfect ingredients. Sara, Elena and I had so much fun decorating the things until late on Friday night.
But if you look closely, as the night went on we got sillier and sillier with the cupcake babies when designing their hairdos. I actually starting piping comb-overs and fros on my poor kiddos. But they really did turn out adorable.
Somehow my fro and my comb-over made it in the same box. Can you find them?

I won't say the shower went off without a hitch on Saturday, there was enough of a hiccup that Sara, LaHonda, and I all decided a half milligram of Atavan would see us through the afternoon. And it did. Things settled, we settled and everyone had a wonderful time. Julie's flower arrangements turned out beautiful!

And, in the end, it all turned out okay. Heather looked so cute with her pregnant belly, and ALL OF HER GIFTS. She was even a good sport and wore the bow hat LaHonda made for her.
Everything was splendid. Everyone had a great time and now we can't wait for the arrival of little Saylor Grace! Congrats Josh and Heather!

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
