Keller has really gotten into basketball this year. He got a basketball goal for Christmas from Nonni and Papa Todd, he's playing on a recreational basketball team, and he loves watching the Thunder! OU is also really into basketball this season and have one of the top-ranked teams in the country. We decided to take Keller to his first OU bball game on Feb. 13 when OU hosted Kansas in what was supposed to be the rematch of the season (about a month before, OU traveled to Kansas to play when both teams were ranked #1. The Sooners lost that nailbiter in 2 overtimes. However, everyone knew that when they rematches in Norman a month later, the Sooners would be victorious). , it was a lackadaisical game for both teams without anywhere near the intensity of that prime time battle in January and Kansas had only slightly more gamesmanship than the so-called Sooner Magic and stole another win from the now 3rd-ranked OU team.
I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning. His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning. Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.
