Christmas was busy for us this year. Because of a Christmas day snow storm plans had to be rearranged at the last minute so Christmas around here ended up lasting almost an entire week!
Usually we go to Paul's Valley on Christmas Eve and spend the evening with Jed's family, but because of the threat of inclement weather and several family members being ill we postponed our celebration until the next weekend. It was t fun to have to postpone but it was nice to be able to spend Christmas Eve with my family -which I hadn't done in 7 years. Keller had a grand ole time and made out like a bandit with his ninja turtle stuff.
Ninja Turtles were all he wanted from Santa this year - it didn't matter that he already had all 4 of them, he needed all the new ones that came out too! Well, Santa was good to Keller and he got his ninja turtles plus a new bike and awesome bike helmet! Too bad we got a wicked snow storm on Christmas morning. He couldn't even take his new bike out to ride. It warmed up.considerably a couple weeks later though and we have spent a good deal of time on that new bike. Santa also brought Meagan a d Jed a new outdoor fireplace for our new back patio. It is so cool and we can't wait until it gets just a little warmer outside to use it..fireplace or not I'm not a fan of sitting g outside in 30 degree weather! We were supposed to have all my family over and we were going to celebrate the holidays in our new home but unfortunately people couldn't make it. My parents were the only ones crazy enough to try to drive in a blizzard just to be with us. Thankfully they had safe travels.
The following Sunday we had Christmas with Jed's family in Paul's Valley. It was so fun because it was baby Alayna's first Christmas and watching her watch everyone else and try to keep up with her bigger cousins was too funny. Once again Keller made out great. Between his birthday and three Christmases we need another new house just to have room for all his stuff!
I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning. His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning. Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home. The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...
