Summer time

This summer has been a hot one, and for some reason a busy one! I was technically on maternity leave until June 18 but I found plenty of ways to keep myself so busy this summer until I had to return to work on June 18 for a conference. So to continue my catching up of all my back blogging, here are some more random pics from this spring and early summer.

Dad and I had the opportunity to go to the College Softball World Series with the Sooners vs.Alabama. We had a great time despite the Sooners losing to 'Bama 2 games to 1.

Keller and his best friend Dazy telling secrets to each other!

Jed and I at game 4 of the Thunder vs. Spurs Western Conference Finals. The Thunder were victorious that night. This game was Jed's 5 year anniversary present to me. What a blast!
Keller really loves Lady and the Tramp right now, so naturally he had to own both stuffed animals.
Our good friends the Fords have chickens now. Keller was quite taken with them when we went out to visit them one evening. Though offered many times if he wanted to actually go in the chicken coup, K decided that standing on the outside of the fence was as close as he wanted to get to the chickens.
The battle of the squash! Mom won! I just wanted Keller to try it. He did. He quickly spit it back out, but he DID try it and that's all I wanted to do. We sat at the table for 30 minutes until he finally gave in.

Papa John and Keller
Okay, Keller will probably kill me for the picture one day but I thought it was too funny. He is going to the bathroom and just hanging out. Sometimes he takes a long time in the bathroom for no reason so I decided to investigate this day and this is what I found. He was lounging, like the toilet was the most comfortable seat in the house, just hanging out. When I asked him what he was doing, he actually told me, "Just relaxing." Sometimes I wonder where he gets this stuff.
I just think this is a cute pic of Keller and his lion, Orange.
Another one he will kill me for one day, and Josh and Heather probably aren't my friends after posting this, but everything is covered as it should be so don't fret. This Keller and Saylor (Saylor is our best friends, Josh and Heather's, daughter. We joke about Keller and Saylor being betrothed all the time) taking a bath after a long evening of chalk, sandbox, and chalk paint play. These two were filthy so they took their first bath together. Can't wait to show this at their wedding one day. Hahahahaha.

All tuckered out after a busy weekend at Papa Todd's.

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
