Catching up in October.

It has been an extraordinarily busy fall this year with October being the busiest month of all. So much has happened since school started back in August. Keller started a new school called The Pumpkin Shell and he absolutely loves it. Jed's bbq sauce business is taking off and he is filling orders all the time. I am teaching Theatre this year and that has me so busy I don't know if my head will ever stop spinning. Where has 2011 gone?
I have tried to post random pictures when I have had a chance but I decided today while I actually have nothing to do, I had better catch up on my blogging. So what follows is an some of the goings on of the season and some captions to follow.

Nonnie bought Keller a hippity hop (or whatever, that's what I called it when I was little...). He loved hopping on this thing.

And crashing...

Keller in Grandpa Summers' OU hat. (He died in 2007, but would have loved this picture)

Future Sooners linebacker!

Keller loves hanging out with his buddy Ronald McDonald.

During my fall break, Jed and I went to San Juan, Puerto Rico for some much needed R&R. What follows are a few pictures from paradise!

Jed and I on the beach.

The dessert from Perla, the uber-nice restaurant we ate at our last night in Puerto Rico. It's so pretty and it tasted even better. Perla is one of those restaurants where all the food comes out looking like a work of art (like on Iron Chef and all those cool shows)
The rocks surrounding El Morro, the first Caribbean fort.

The south side of El Morro.

Random I know, but this was a basketball court we passed in Old San Juan. I thought it was so neat!

One of the Tarpin Jed caught on his fishing adventure in Puerto Rico. He caught 6 fish that day, all this big.

Our family symbol in the sand! Yes, I am a big dork and I embrace it!

Ahhh, the beach!

Puerto Rico is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been too and out of all the islands of the Caribbean that I have traveled to, it was definitely the cleanest! 4 out of 5 stars!

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
