Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend was a busy one for us. Jed and I celebrated our four year anniversary that weekend (our anniversary was May 26) and we decided to drive down to the Arbuckle Mountains. It was a fun day and Keller loved walking and playing outside. This is a picture of Jed and Keller strolling along one of the trails at "Little Niagra."
On Sunday, we headed to Guthrie for a pool party at the Triplett's house. Jennifer and her family were in town so it was great fun seeing her and hanging out with the family. Keller just started liking to swim at the end of last summer, so I was really worried if he would like it again. It took him awhile to warm up to the cold water, but he did get used to it and swam around with his dad for awhile. Keller's favorite thing to do was sit in the tube and just float around. I swear, he did nothing in the pool but float around for a good 2 hours!

On Monday, we headed to the big playground at Reaves Park in Norman. We had never been there before and passed it one day and decided we needed to go try it. It is the biggest playground I have ever seen! A kid could run around for hours and not get bored! The battery on the camera died, so I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted but some turned out cute.
Keller loved this slide and went down it about six times. You would think he would be intimidated by it's size and height? Nope!

Away he goes!
And he enjoyed making music!
There was also a fire truck fort that he enjoyed "driving".
Later during the week, we had new carpet installed. Keller loved the new carpet so much he couldn't wait for it to get in the house. He went ahead and tested it out while still on the driveway.
To stay out of the carpet guys way we played in the backyard for awhile. It has been too dang hot to go outside most days and spend a long time, but on that particular morning it was okay.
The older Keller gets, the more Dazy seems to be at ease with him. She was staying with us for the week, and Keller loved showing off how she lets him pet her now. I hope one day they can get along really well and we don't have to worry about her potentially biting him anymore.

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
