It's the great flood of Keller

It has been way too long since I last blogged, all you followers probably thought I had given up. No. Things have just been extremely boring around here. Plus, it's the last nine weeks of school and these always turn into hectic, hectic weeks for me. Needless to say, I am swamped in grading (research papers), exhausted, and just too darn lazy to even think about blogging at night. However, I do have a few cute things to share from the past week.
The first is from outside over the weekend, working in the yard. We are in the process of relandscaping our backyard. New sod, new plants, the works...and by "we" I mean Jed (and sometimes my Dad); not me. I don't do yard work...anyway...Keller LOVES to help his Dad water the yard so I snapped a few cute pics the other day.
Keller insists on trying to hold the hose by himself and help water the yard. Only he doesn't have the strength to hold the handle down and aim where he's going, so instead of the grass getting watered, the air conditioner did!
This is his new castle. Isn't it cute? Ignore the awful grass under it. It is will be all new fresh, green sod!
I think this next picture is hysterical! Other than help out, Keller's favorite thing is to get sprayed with the water hose, again, and again, and again. He will just stand there for hours and let you absolutely soak him. This picture kind of reminds me of the movie Tommy Boy when Chris Farley was getting hosed down by Rob  Lowe...
And, of course, because he has no aim....watering his shoes!

Now the real reason I just had to blog tonight! Yesterday afternoon I was relaxing, catching up on my People magazine and Keller disappeared into his room. Or so I thought...
Instead I found him playing in the bathroom sink with a cup, filling it up with water over and over again, and pouring it all over the floor!

I wanted to be so mad, but it was so freaking funny! Thank goodness we have wood floors and not carpet! I did admonish him, but only after I ran back to the living room to take a picture first.
I know it's hard to tell in this picture but there is a half-inch of water puddled on the floor in the bathroom and it is spilling over into the hallway.
What will he come up with next?

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
