It's a nice balmy 50 degrees outside...

...so that means we had to go out and play! It has seriously been so freaking cold this past week, you couldn't even go outside unless it was absolutely necessary. Finally, Saturday turned out to be pretty okay in the late part of the afternoon, so we took poor Keller (who had been cooped up in the house all week) to the playground.

He started off on this slide which is supposed to be for smaller kids I assumed. Only, Keller slid so fast down it, he flew off the end and landed flat on his butt! Once I made sure he was okay, I fell over laughing because it was so funny.

The boy was so happy to just get outside and run!

And, of course, we had to stop to play in the dirt. Keller managed to find the biggest rock...

...and insisted that I have it. What a nice guy!

In this picture he is at the very top of the big kids slide-the one that turns 'round and 'round. Keller has always been too scared to climb to the top himself and go down it, but not today!

And, for whatever reason, he loved playing in this little window. He would run all over and around the playground and come back here, poke his head as far as he could in and say "Hi Momma!"

However, the see-saw was not his favorite!

Keller is changing so fast and so much everyday. At his 2 year check up, he was in the 75 percentile for both his height and weight. He is growing so fast. I realize it more and more, especially since he spends the majority of every other week with his Mommo and Bapa in Pauls Valley.
The changes that 2011 have brought are aplenty already.
Keller knows...
1. All of his letters. He isn't reciting the alphabet yet, but he knows each one on sight (both capital and lower case!)
2. Most of his colors.
3. He can tell us he is 2!
4. He knows what a touchdown is! (Seriously, he watches football on tv and when they score, he throws his arms up and yells touchdown!)
5. Loves books and reading
6. Can work my iPhone better than I can
7.We are working on him saying "Boomer Sooner" but he can get out "Texas Sucks" most of the time.
8. Our favorite thing right now is his habit of crawling into bed with us in the middle of the night (no, not that) and waking us up with "Hi Guys!" It is both frustrating yet the funniest thing ever.

Time goes by so fast and I am trying to figure out where the last two years have gone. I so enjoyed staying at home over Christmas break with him, and have the countdown going. Only 16 weeks until summer vacation!

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
