Happy Halloween

Lt. Keller at your service! As mentioned a couple months ago, Tanner bought Keller a matching flightsuit and we decided Keller was then going to be a pilot for Halloween. Oh my gosh! Have you ever seen a cuter pilot? His costume was definitely the hit of the neighborhood, as everyone we passed made comments on it.

Our first trick-or-treat experience was interesting. We went out into the front yard to "practice" trick-or-treating on the front door. Keller was more interested in playing in the dirt, of course.

He was very good at putting dirt in his bucket though.

By the way, did you notice that even Keller's candy bucket is OU? Ha! It is a pumpkin with an OU football helmet on it!

We decided to hang out with our next door neighbors and trick-or-treat with them. Luca is 4, so by now he is an old pro and we thought he could show Keller how to do it.
Baby Vincent the Dragon, Sir Luca the Knight, and Lt. Keller Cole
This was the first house we trick-or-treated at. The girls down the street were so sweet and basically let Keller and Luca have whatever they wanted. Luca loaded up, like any smart kid would, but Keller zeroed in on an orange Tootsie Pop and that is all he wanted.
And he wanted it right then. We didn't even make it out of the drive way before the kid had that sucker in his mouth!
Our next neighbors had this ridiculous blow up skeleton thing. Most kids were afraid of it, but Keller walked right up to it. He is in a bike phase right now and loves riding anything that goes (he had a trike and a 4-wheeler already!).

I couldn't get a good pic of him standing next to it because he just kept trying to climb on the thing. Once he realized he couldn't climb on the bike and ride it, he quickly grew bored with it and walked off. So, I snapped picture of him walking off.
We trick-or-treated a few more houses. Keller learned to say trick-or-treat but it sounded more like "tree-tee." His favorite was when we stopped at a house who gave him Cheetos instead of candy. We had to open those right away too!

Cheetos on his mouth, and candy in each hand.

I really think though, his favorite part of the night was handing candy out to the trick-or-treaters who came to our door. He handed each little ghoul or goblin one pixie stick and said "Thank You" to them.

This is just another great pic of him at the end of the night.

Correction: Jed took most of the pics during the evening, so I cannot take credit for them.

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
