Little Cowboy

Keller got to play at Mammo's (Jed's mom) house this morning while mommy was away. His favorite thing to do it get out his Bapa's (Jed's dad) cowboy hat and old cowboy boots. Bapa has had these boots since he was a kid himself, so it is so funny to see Keller play with them all these years later. They are too big and go all the way to his knees, so he waddles around for a few minutes before he has decided he's had enough and takes them off until the next time.

And once he's done playing with Bapa's hat, he moves on to wearing his daddy's old red hat.

However, once he's done playing dress up, it's always more fun to throw everything down the stairs and watch it go tumbling. Playing on the stairs isn't something we encourage, so he hears his least favorite word in the world when this happens (No) and while he usually throws a tantrum, today I just got a pouty face. It was too cute.

On a completely different non-Keller end of the spectrum, Jed loves to play around in the kitchen and he is quickly winning a reputation as a grill master. He is even making his own barbeque sauces which are becoming quite popular. So, we have decided to launch our own bbq business. Blue Eyes BBQ is currently filling orders to custom bbq sauces and maybe even smoking ribs and pulled pork. Jed is so excited because we have been toying with the idea for sometime and after his dad requested a bottle of sauce, word got out and he has 8 orders to complete in the next week. It's not huge numbers but we are excited. The spicy bbq sauce seems to be the most popular (the sweet is my favorite), so let's hope this endeavor really takes off.

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
