Hot Days Equal Frozen Yogurt

It has been so hot here lately! Above 100 degrees most days. Too hot to even go outside. We did get to play outside for about an hour a few days ago and I completely forgot I had taken pictures of it. Keller loves to play with Jed's sprinkler and most of the time move it around for him.
Another one of Keller's favorite things to do these days is to sit in the fridge. I have no idea why he does this but anytime someone opens the fridge to get something out, Keller plops right down on the shelf and just sits there until you are done. Then he happily jumps up and shuts the door for you. He has become the fridge attendant (luckily he doesn't ask for tips!)

On Friday, Mammo and cousin Karis came to Norman for a visit. These two cousins love each other so much and follow each other around. Keller is definitely not he cuddler he used to be, but Karis loves to pick him up and try to carry him around like when he was a baby. He'll tolerate it for a hot second and then he starts kicking her to let him down!

Karis is 7 and into gymnastics right now. She was showing everyone at Jed and Stu's office how she has learned to do cartwheels. Ever the quick learner, Keller "copied" his cousin and showed us all how he could do cartwheels too!
But the is about as far as he can get. He can't quite figure out how to kick those fat little legs over his head yet!

After tumbling practice, we decided that it was so hot outside that we decided to go to Orange Leaf and get frozen yogurt. Luckily for us, it has the BEST frozen yogurt in Norman and it is never busy. We love this place because the owners don't care if K runs around like a mad man, which is just what he does on every occasion. Thank goodness for Karis because she was our chaser this time and Jed and I got to actually sit and enjoy our yogurt instead of running laps around the place as usual. Karis was also nice enough to share her yogurt (cookies and cream with oreos, gummy worms, m&m's, chocolate chips and cocoa krispies-yuck!) with her cousin. Let the sugar rush begin..

Aside from just running around crazy because this kid has so much energy, Keller is learning to say more and more things. His favorite phrase right now is "What's that?" He says it ALL THE TIME, but it is good to know that he is so inquisitive. Right now he just wants to identify everything, I am waiting for they day everything becomes "Why?"

Summer is coming to a close and this is the last week before school starts again :(. Keller starts a new daycare which he will attend 2 days a week on the 19th, and I get a new group of freshmen on the 20th. Gee, I can't wait.
I just talked to my good friend from college, and she is moving from the East Coast to Dallas in a week. I am so excited and hope we get to see each other soon!

Terra Verde sings at Rivermont

I say it all the time, but I will say it again--we are SO HAPPY that we have found Terra Verde Discovery School for Keller to attend. This year has been amazing. We have gone from having a child who HATED going to school everyday the last two years to having a little boy who can't wait to get there in the morning.  His teacher, Ms. Lindsay Berryhill, is an amazing woman who has gotten Keller to tune in and love learning.  Among the wonderful things he has done in first grade this year, including learning Mandarin, having a lemonade stand to earn money to build an animal hospital for dramatic play, visiting The Orr Family Farm, having a manners lunch at Charlestons, and many more things, he also had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols with his 89 other school mates at Rivermont Retirement Home.  The seniors at the home were so entered by these children and we were truly impressed with how well they all behaved. The singing was excellent, but what was truly inspiring w...

It's been ENTIRELY too long!

Clearly Keller is distraught that it has been so long since my last posting. It has been almost two weeks since my last blog post. These last two weeks at school have been so busy that when I come home at night the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. Plus, working so much has not left me ample time to get good shots of Keller. When we're playing and he does something funny I never have the camera around. However, as a good change of pace I do have some good video taken from this weekend. My mom keeps Keller 2-3 days a week and for some reason she decided the boy does not have enough toys. As if...(haha, throwback to Clueless). So, she decided Keller needed to work on being the next Tiger Woods (before all the you know). Anyway, this is Keller with his very first set of golf clubs. At first glance, he seems like a natural... Doesn't it look like he hit the ball right into the cup and is now getting the ball out of his hole-in-one? We he did get it in the cup ...
